Britling, the luxury Swiss watchmaker, now accepts Bitcoin for purchase

Brittling, one of the world’s most famous watch makers, has jumped on the bandwagon and started adopting digital currency as a form of payment with the increasing use of cryptocurrencies worldwide.

The Swiss timepiece maker has teamed up with cryptocurrency payment service company BitPay to acquire Ethereum, Shiba Inu, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies in its online store.

As the general acceptance of Bitcoin continues, Britling has joined the ranks of many luxury companies that have taken the lead in adopting cryptocurrencies over the past few months.

Britling accepts more crypto

Bittling said Bitcoin accepts Bitcoin Cash, Dozcoin, Litcoin, Wrapped Bitcoin and five Stablecoins, including Binance USD, Dye, Gemini Dollar, USDP and USD Coin.

In a tweet on Wednesday morning, BitPay said:

“Luxury watch brand, reBreitling now adopts crypto! Welcome to #BitPay, we’re happy to partner with you to bring new payment options to your customers. “

Breitling’s website shows that the Endurance Pro watch costs 3,300, while the Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillion 42 Bentley costs $ 53,560.

According to CoinMarketCap data, at the time of publication, the price of the Premier B21 Chronograph Turbillion was about 2.5 BTC, as Bitcoin traded at, 20,797, up 0.33 percent on the day but down 3.32 percent from the previous seven days.

As previously reported by Bitcoinist, fashion companies Balenciaga and Gucci, luxury e-commerce Farfetch, and Swiss luxury watch makers Hublot and Tag Heuer have announced that they will accept Bitcoin via BitPay.

Tag Heuer has expressed even greater ambition to enter Web 3.0 and publish a stylish NFT collection.

Crypto for the car industry as well

In addition to the fashion business, the acceptance of Bitcoin has also increased in the automobile industry.

Last year, Houston’s Post Oak Motor Cars integrated Bitcoin services locally through NYDIG, allowing clients to purchase luxury cars with Bitcoin-backed financing.

Breitling has already used cryptocurrency in its efforts, most notably launching the “Breitling Blockchain” initiative. The watchmaker has created a digital passport NFT with features like tradability, traceability and the “Bretling Trade” platform.

The company’s first design workshop was set up in 1884 at Place Nouveau 1 in Saint-Emere by Leon Britling, 24, in response to the Swiss recession.

Since then, the firm has established itself as one of the most popular watch makers in the country. In 2017, the brand was sold to CVC Capital Partners, a private equity firm.
