What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Let’s start with how search engines work. You’re looking for a boat, so type in Google. Behind the scenes, targeted words or keywords are categorized by search engine spiders and placed in their database to pop up when requested. The database is made up of unlimited entries of web pages collected by spiders or bots and / or human editors. So does every leaf of the spider web fall? No. They look through the cliff notes on each page. Who wrote this cliff note? You, as a web site designer. Cliff notes consider the following:

– Web site and specific web page name;

– The word used in the title of the web page;

– The first paragraph or two of the web page;

– Meta tags;

– Internet web links and other links coming to web pages.

Optimize means to be as perfect, efficient or effective as possible. Therefore, optimizing your website for search engines means making your website as accurate and functional as possible so that you can get higher ranking / ranking in search engine results.

Here are a few other conditions to know.

– Natural or Organic Search – Results from search engine rules without any payments.

– Payment Inquiry – A deposit fee or a bid has been paid for the results to appear

– Search Engine Marketing (SEM) – Combines natural and paid search activities

Different engines have different rules about how they rank sites. Here are all three items to consider.

Link

– Coming to the site is more important than going out. Links from link farms reduce your ranking

– Links must be relevant to your site.

Content

– Original high quality content

– New content has high ranking

Keywords / keyword phrases

– Keep them at the core of your site.

– Do not use keywords or phrases that are not relevant to your site.

If you haven’t already made it to the front page of Google, keep trying to optimize something.

Always progressive.
